The 10th race feature began with Hyde Park Hussie N and driver Mickey McNichol shooting to the early lead but it was driver John Kakaley whipping and urging Evere’s Connection out of the gate to take command by the opening quarter mile in :28.

As the field passed the half mile pole in :57.3, Wally Hennessey had started on the outside with Tasma Walton A and they began grinding their way towards the leaders with Kadijah (Daryl Bier) following the outside cover.

At the three-quarter mile mark in 1:26, Evere’s Connection was still in command but Tasma Walton A was gaining ground with every stride on the outside. Then as the field started down the stretch Hennessey was able to keep Tasma Walton A on the move to the finish as McNichol wove between horses to find clearance and finish second with Kadijah third.

It was the ninth start of the year for Tasma Walton A. The nine-year-old Australian-bred mare by Walton Hanover is trained by Michile Lorenzo and is owned by Rod Lorenzo and the Keisers Oberman Stables.
