The $15,000 event will be staged at Ballarat on Saturday night (June 17).

Acacia Ridge has won his four runs since a spell in devastating fashion.

After taking out the Victoria Trotters Derby, the Gary Hoban trained and driven son of Anvil Lad attempted to add another Group One title to his credit last August.

Stepping out in the Australasian Breeders Crown Final at Cranbourne, Acacia Ridge began badly, despite the 2105 metre feature event being staged under mobile conditions.

Three wide over the final stages the gelding was responsible for a gallant 4.6 metre third behind Super Command and Jauriol.

Hoban spelled Acacia Ridge following that assignment, prior to bringing him back for a 2190 metre stand start event at Maryborough on April 20.

Overcoming a 10 metre handicap, Acacia Ridge was sensational in scoring by 49.6 metres.

Acacia Ridge headed for his next assignment at Moonee Valley on May 5, with a 29.2 metre win coming his way.

Victories at Stawell and Terang were soon to follow, with the margins being two metres and 20.1 metres, respectively.

In greeting the judge at his past three encounters, Acacia Ridge has overcome a 30 metre handicap each time.

The same mark applies for his assignment at Ballarat.

Salute Two Alabama (Keystone Salute-Alabama Salute), who will launch her claim from the fron tline, looms as a definite threat to Acacia Ridge, along with Williams Key (Keystone Salute-Williams Girl) and Hes A Ruler (The Contender-Maori Trump).

Williams Key will join Acacia Ridge behind the 30 metre strand while Hes A Ruler will give the pair a further 10 metres.

Acacia Ridge is out of a Liberty Alto mare in Liberria.

After failing to make it to the races, Liberria commenced her career at stud with a filly by the former outstanding performer in Vanderport.

Like her mum the filly didn't face the starter.

In 1998 a gelding by California Cam arrived, with Another Liberty posting four wins from 35 starts.

After losing her next foal two years later, Acacia Ridge joined the family in November 2001.

The mare then had a filly by Armbro Operative in 2002 however Another Libby is yet to face the starter.

The well named colt Behind Enemy Lines, a son of Courage Under Fire, was born in December 2003.

No doubt Behind Enemy Lines will attract plenty of attention when he steps out for his first assignment.

Liberria had her latest foal in December 2005, with the birth of a filly by D M Dilinger.
