Trained and driven by Wayne Waltisbuhl the 4-year-old son of Mystical Shark swooped on the lead role when the odds-on elect in Art Collector was driven with a sit by Andrew McCarthy.

Allowed to run freely over the final 800 metres of the 1660 metre challenge, White Fire showed no signs of surrendering his position in defeating the short-priced elect.

A rare sight these days, the skewbald features of White Fire certainly stand him out from his rivals.

His dam is Ishihara was also a skewbald in being by Gold Shield while being out of a Snow Time mare in Horse In Pyjamas.

Unraced, Ishihara had her first foal back in September 2001, a year before White Fire, when she gave birth to a skewbald filly by Rorschach.

That particular filly hasn't appeared at the races.

Rorschach was a son of the champion performer Preux Chevalier while being out of a Snow Time mare in Mix N Match.

While his progeny have turned out to be skewbalds, Snow Time was a piebald.

Rorschach was a crowd favourite during his 95 start career in Queensland due to his outstanding skewbald appearance.

Rorschach contested 95 races for nine wins and 21 placings.
