Stepping out for his first assignment since scoring over the 2609 metres of the Pinjarra track on August 7, which was his seventh straight victory, Precious Dylan commenced his latest challenge on a confident note.
Steadily making up his handicap, Precious Dylan then swept around the field to take up the running.
From that point the major share of the prizemoney was heading towards his bank account.
The son of Precious Bunny was allowed more rein by Williams on straightening for home, which resulted in Precious Dylan setting up an unbeatable lead.
Competitive Edge, who sat without cover for most of the trip, tried hard but he was no match for the classy Precious Dylan, while Money Magnet ran a much improved race in finishing a further 2.2 metres back in grabbing third.
Als Reign resumed with a useful fourth, Robbie Brydon, who is a stablemate of Precious Dylan, ran an even race in claiming fifth spot.
Precious Dylan completed his first run back in a time of 3:20.2 while the mile rate was 2:03.0.
The final two sectionals were 29.8 and 28.0.
Formerly based in New Zealand, Precious Dylan has contested 16 races under the care of Williams for 13 wins and two placings.
His finest effort since crossing the Tasman was in December 2005 when he finished a gallant photo second to Gee Whiz Fizz in the $150,000 Golden Nugget Classic over the 2548 metres of the Gloucester Park track.
Overall, Precious Dylan has faced the starter on 23 occasions for 14 wins and three placings.
Julie Vance, who is the dam of Precious Dylan, is a daughter of Vance Hanover while being out of a Lordship mare in Kiwi's Sister.
The mare has had five foals, the first being a filly by Genghis Khan.
In September 1992 the mare had the first of four geldings, with Ok Bye the sire of Ok Mike, who won four of his 75 starts.
Knight Vance (Tuapeka Knight) was foaled two years later.
His record included 15 wins and 25 starts from 82 starts.
Julie Vance didn't have her next foal until 1998 when a full-brother to Knight Vance was born.
Knight Attraction went on to face the starter on 40 occasions for six wins.
Then in 2001 the mare had her latest foal, which was Precious Dylan.
