A winning double at Warragul on Friday afternoon (January 12)was followed by another winner at the Ballarat meeting that night.
Lining up in gate one for his latest assignment over 2100 metres, Marty McFly held the inside running, which allowed Thompson to perfectly dictate the terms of the race from start to finish.
Joined by Doolan Jack soon after the field started to find their respective positions, Marty McFly was able to complete the opening quarter in 32.5, prior to covering the next 400 metres in 31.0.
The foundation for a winning display was now firmly in place.
Sent out with 'red figures' next to his name, Marty McFly raised the tempo of the race to a 29.4 third quarter but in the process, Doolan Jack continued to grind away gamely.
Also, King Caesar, who was enjoying the run behind Marty McFly, continued to hold his position in readiness for the sprint lane.
But Marty McFly continued to safely hold his role at the head of affairs, en route to a solid 1.4 metre victory over King Caesar.
Doolan Jack was only a further head away in posting another creditable third.
Completing the final 400 metres in 29.1, Marty McFly recorded a gross time of 2:38.9 while the mile rate was 2:01.7.
The win by Marty McFly was his 12th from 33 starts while a further eight outings have been placings.
The gelding is a son of Safely Kept while his dam is Whiplash (Sokys Atom-My Sweet Alli).
Unraced, Whiplash has had seven foals since 1996 but only four have faced the starter to date.
Plain Jane, who was her first foal, contested 14 races but the daughter of My Handsome Fella managed only one win.
Ok Pal followed a year later, with the Sands A Flyin colt chalking up three wins from 32 starts.
A colt by My Handsome Fella became her third foal a year later, with Dark Felt winning five of his 50 starts.
Her next two foals didn't race, prior to Marty McFly then becoming her next foal in December 2002.
Her latest foal was a filly to Safely Kept in November 2005.
