On March 30, 2007, Preszcator had been issued a $1,500 fine and a 60-day suspension after a positive test for the Class 3 drug Torsemide.
As a result of Preszcator's appeal, the fine of $1,500 was upheld, but the initial 60-day suspension had been reduced to 13 days. Preszcator's days were already served from April 4 to April 16, inclusively.
On March 30, 2007, Houghton had been issued a $4,000 fine and one-year suspension resulting from Torsemide positives on horses Davey My Boy, Elanas Earl, Classic Commotion and Handy Dandy.
As a result of Houghton's appeal, the fine of $4,000 was reduced to $3,000 and the one-year suspension reduced to nine months. Also, the purse distribution and the driver and trainer fees were to remain as stated in the original judges' ruling.
In regard to both Preszcator and Houghton's cases, the ORC advised that the written reasons for decisions would be released at a later date.
