Preszcator and Houghton had both appealed their initial fines and suspensions.
Preszcator had been issued a $1,500 fine and a 60-day suspension for the positive Torsemide test on the horse Simply Marvellous. As a result of Preszcator's appeal, the fine of $1,500 was upheld, but the initial 60-day suspension had been reduced to 13 days. Preszcator's days were already served from April 4 to April 16, inclusively.
Houghton had been issued a $4,000 fine and one-year suspension resulting from Torsemide positives on horses Davey My Boy, Elanas Earl, Classic Commotion and Handy Dandy. As a result of Houghton's appeal, the fine of $4,000 was reduced to $3,000 and the one-year suspension reduced to nine months. Also, the purse distribution and the driver and trainer fees were to remain as stated in the original judges' ruling.
