Lo Siento set the early quarter-mile fractions of 27.1 seconds, 57 and 1.25.3 while Bre X back in fifth.
Bre X was first-up and moved to fourth at the half and three-quarter mile marks and then under strong urging from driver Bill Davis covered the last quarter-mile in 27.2 seconds and won by six lengths.
The mile clocking was 1.53.3, which knocked one-fifth of a one second off the former mark, shared by Scruffy Ben, Hot Steam, Red Star Admiral and Nazko Promise.
Haras Colta Cola (Armbro Operative-Celes Lady) was second and Pee Tee O (Scruffy Hanover--Barbies Best) finished third.
Bre X, who is owned by Kadence Stables of Coquitlam, B.C. and Tante Stables of New Westminster, B.C. and who is trained by Wayne Isbister, now has 11 wins in 23 starts in 2003.
Bre X has earned $51,669 in 2003 and $213,684, lifetime.
