Race 1 – 1st Auckland Reactor opened $1.15 & closed $1.20 – Largest wager $3,000 at $1.30
Dreamy Chick (6th) $1,000 at $21
No surprise to see the winner take all the wagering in multi-betting with the largest unit $4,800 at $1.15 onto Sir Clive at $1.20 to return $6,624 along with a $2,000 unit on the same combination to return $3,120. We took a $1,000 wager on Dreamy Chick (6th) at $21 and the ‘book’ did win a small amount on the single wagering but the race was a good start for customers in their multi- betting.

Race 2 – 1st Roydon Flash opened $6.00 & closed $7.50 – Largest wager $300 at $7.00
Mon Star (6th) $1,200 at $3.60 & $700 at $3.60
Pammy’s Prince (7th) $1,000 at $18
Coolmaine (11th) $500 at $10 (X2)
So And So (12th) $1,000 at $8.00
The best backed runner in both single and multi wagering was the opening and closing favourite Mon Star (6th). The ‘book’s’ worst result was Coolmaine (11th) who opened at $9.00 and closed at $6.00, Pammy’s Prince (7th) was also a bad result courtesy of a $1,000 wager at $18. The winner was a good result for the ‘book’.

Race 3 – 1st Joni James opened $31 & closed $31 – Largest wager $20 at $31 (X2)
Goldie Blue (3rd) $1,200 at $2.40, $500 at $2.40 (X3) & $500 at $2.00 (X4)
The ‘book’ was losing heavily on the opening and closing favourite Goldie Blue (3rd) but we were prepared to take him on as we thought the second favourite Mattnamaras Band (2nd) would take the race out. It didn’t work out like we thought it would but it was still a good result with an outsider in Joni James winning. Nearly all multi-bets were going through the first two favourites with only two multi tickets placed on the winner.

Race 4 – 1st Special Ops opened $6.50 & closed $6.50 – Largest wager $500 at $6.50
Charles Bronson (5th) $2,000 at $3.20, $1,000 at $3.20 (X2) & $800 at $2.80
I’m A Dazzler (10th) $500 at $31
The worst result in the race was the favourite Charles Bronson (5th) followed by I’m A Dazzler (10th) and Bon Ton Boy (3rd) ) who took a number of wagers when he was at $13 on the ‘book’ compared to $6.50 on the tote at that time. The winner was a small winning result for us and she wasn’t that heavily backed in multi-wagers.

Race 5 – 1st Sir Clive opened $1.20 & closed $1.20 – Largest wager $3,000 at $1.20
We sold the field above the tote on all runners other than the favourite and managed to close the single ‘book’ winning on every runner including Sir Clive who did close on the tote at $1.20 which was our opening price. It would have been a huge result for us if Sir Clive was beaten but once he got to the front it was all over. Not surprisingly the stablemate of the winner Highview Tommy was the next best backed runner.

Race 6 – 1st Springbank Richard opened $2.40 & closed $2.00 – Largest wager $1,000 at $2.40
Mystic Sun (5th) $500 at $12
Lough Beg (7th) $500 at $10
Easily the best backed runner was the favourite Springbank Richard but we only lost a small amount in single wagering as the late money came for Mystic Sun (5th) & Lough Beg (7th). There were plenty of multi-wagers going through the winner so we will be hoping the next couple of races don’t go to the favourites.

Race 7 – 1st Sir Artsplace opened $6.50 & closed $6.00 – Largest wager $200 at $6.00
The Cumberland (8th) $500 at $5.50
Diggers Rest (7th) was the best backed runner and closed the worst result over Island Sunrise (4th). The winner was a small losing result for us in the single wagering but was a good result in multi-wagering.

Race 8 – 1st Seel The Dream opened $31 & closed $18 – Largest wager $100 at $18
Barmy Army (10th) $1,000 at $3.00
We lost a small amount on the winner which wasn’t a surprise with Dexter Dunn in the cart. We opened her at $31 so those followers of Dexter would have been happy with those odds. Not a lot of interest in this race but the best backed was Franco Amity (5th) and the worst result was Ludachris (9th) who opened at $16 and closed at $10. We were winning on our opening favourite Franco Natura (2nd) but unfortunately he was checked in the running.

Race 9 – 1st Baileys Dream opened $5.50 & closed $7.50 – Largest wager $1,000 at $7.00
Monkey King $3,000 at $2.00, $2,000 at $1.80 & $1,500 at $2.00
We would have liked Classic Cullen (2nd) to have held on as he was a great result for the ‘book’ but at the end of the day we were happy to have any runner winning but Monkey King ( ) as there were huge multi-bets finishing on him and no doubt plenty more going through onto the last two races. Baileys Dream was always a winning result for us until one minute out when he dropped into a small liability. We did take a $500 multi Baileys Dream at $7.00 into Idid It Myway at $14 to return $49,000 so we will be watching that runner closely in the next raceon’t be taking much on that runner in single wagering.

Race 10 – 1st Idid It Myway opened $14 & closed $7.00 – Largest wager $1,000 at $14
Houdini Star (10th) $2,000 at $3.20 & $1,000 at $3.20
We were losing heavily on Houdini Star (10th) in single wagering and the only other losing result was the Idid It Myway along with a $49,000 multi finishing on him. The second placed runner Mountbatten took some late money when we pushed his price out from $5.00 - $7.00 in an effort to reduce the liability on the above two.

Race 11 – 1st Mr Molly opened $3.00 & closed $4.00 – Largest wager $400 at $3.20
Stuart Brown (2nd) $1,000 at $10
Bad All Over (11th) $3,000 at $3.60, $2,500 at $3.60 & $1,000 at $3.60 (X3)
Anyone who wanted to back Stuart Brown after race 10 was resulted was never going to get a decent price as we had a $255 unit multi finishing on him – Baileys Dream ($7.00), Idid It Myway ($14) and Stuart Brown ($10) with the return $249.900. When Mark Jones took off with less than a lap to go we were hoping well maybe praying that he wouldn’t get the lead and luckily for us he didn’t and Mr Molly got a great drag into the final 200m and denied a dream payout for the customer. We took $1,000 to win on the three runners concerned in that multi so along with that $49,000 payout on a double we are picking he or she got a nice consolation prize and that certainly made sure the ‘book’ had a losing week. Mr Molly was a huge result in single and final wagers so at least that was some consolation for us.
