For a stallion owner the first crop to the races is an especially anxious time. Peruvian Hanover started his career in Nth America where his oldest are 2yo’s and on Sunday 8th June the first round of 2yo qualifiers commenced.

Softshoe Hanover (colt by Peruvian Hanover out of a Tyler B mare) won his race in 2:01.1 recording the fastest last quarter of the day in :29.1, second 3 lengths back was a Camluck and 3rd another 3 lengths back was a Four Starzzz Shark.

The other highlight of the weekend for Ian Dobson was the 2yo in Training Sale in Canada, the 2yo’s average $15,000, the highest price for a pacing bred was $30,000 for the Peruvian Hanover Filly, Windsong Frenchkis (out of a Camluck mare)

And in New Zealand his oldest crop are rising two year olds which number less than 50, and a few trainers have gone out of there way to contact Ian Dobson to say that they are very pleased with their Peruvians, one being Graeme Rogerson who reports that they couldn’t be happier with their one.
