Lis Mara was a stakes winner and recorded 1:51 4/5 for the mile at 3 years. He then went on to win a total of 27 races, banking over US$2.1 million.

He holds the record for most 1:48 or faster wins in history with 3 and for most sub-1:50 wins in history with 16 recording 8 of these in the one season and has the fastest Breeders Crown win ever in 1:47 3/5.

In 2006, Lis Mara, burst onto the Free-For-All scene winning close to US$1 million and was named the O'Brien, Dan Patch and Nova Aged Pacer of the Year.

In a remarkable season he won an elimination and final of the Breeders Crown, the Canadian Pacing Derby Final, the Des Smith Memorial and the American National Stake. His 2006 world record Breeders Crown win (1:47 3/5) was the fastest mile in history of that prestigious race.

In 2007, Lis Mara became the first horse in 20 years to defend his Canadian Pacing Derby title. His US$970,000 earnings include the Canadian Pacing Derby elimination, Graduate Series Final, William Haughton Memorial elimination (world record 1:47 4/5), Ben Franklin Pace elimination and a leg of the Classic Series.

He is a regally bred son of the fastest horse in racing history, Cambest (1:46 1/5 TT), out of Lisheen, the US$500,000 winning Abercrombie daughter of the hall of fame broodmare Lismore, making him from the same maternal family as champion racehorse and successful sire Albert Albert.

Lis Mara's pedigree is sure to compliment a vast amount of Australasian broodmares.

Lis Mara will stand at Nevele R Stud in the 2008-09 season at a service fee of $6500 plus GST which includes an on-farm (Nevele R) working fee of $500 plus GST.

For mares served off-farm the working fee of $500 plus GST will be deducted. Although his fee cannot be discounted he is included in Nevele R's multiple mare discount structure when combined with fresh semen stallions.

His North American book filled very earlier in the year and closed at around 185 mares with support from both the US and Canada. His book of mares in Australasia will be limited to 200 broodmares.
