$64m in jackpots won this year at The Meadows

The Meadows Racetrack & Casino today announced players won $7,888,606 million in jackpots during the month of August. Year to date, $64,300,740 in jackpots have been awarded. In all, 3,107 players won jackpots of $1,200 or higher. The highest jackpot won was $100,000 by a Pittsburgh resident who declined to release their name.

The Meadows is on schedule to open its $175 million permanent casino in spring 2009.

It will be 350,000 square feet, have as many as 4,000 slot machines and will integrate the long-standing tradition of harness racing at The Meadows with state-of-the-art gaming facilities.

It also will provide three featured dining venues, including a premier steak house, a specialty restaurant that overlooks the racetrack and a state-of-the-art food court.

A centrally located lounge and bar will feature panoramic views of both the gaming floor and the racetrack.
