The Carlo Poliseno owned, trained and driven Sugar Valley Alley and Big Sky Thunder racing for Dave Hanisch and Dom Rafanelli head the opposition. The other starters are Greg Thomas's Spat One with Jim Morand, Astro Hall, Ross Wolfenden driving a veteran Conway Hall gelding for Glenn Wilson and Nanticoke Racing. Joyce and Eileen Lineweaver's RT Phoebes Giant drew the rail with George Dennis in the bike.
In the $12,000 Male pace, Carol Franklin, Bob and Greg Laham's Crystal Art (Tony Morgan) seeks to draw closer to becoming a half-million dollar winner. Kal Liebowitz and Steve Scarff's Arterosa (Corey Callahan), the only sophomore in the eight-horse lineup, leaves from post 1 with Ron Davis' Fox Valley Yuppie (George Dennis) alongside.
The other starters are Art Brewer's Kuai Diam N (Jim Morand), Don Kozlaski's Bandito N (Eddie Davis Jr.), Joe Muscara's Cullens Blue Jean (Mike Cole), Vincent Bradley Stable's Father In Law (Brandon Givens) and George LaGutta's Uncle Bingo (Roger Plante).
