Today, two-time defending champion Be Good Johnny was issued with invitation number six by Directors of the NSW Harness Racing Club.
The Queenslander is considered one of the modern greats over a sprint distance, boasting a record that is second-to-none over short journeys, including the 2005 & 2006 Miracle Miles.
Trainer-driver John McCarthy said he was delighted with the news of the invitation.
"It is great that Johnny will be able to defend his Miracle Mile trophies," he said.
"Even though he hasn’t raced since the end of October, his record suggests that he performs best when fresh.
"A month between races won’t worry him in the least."
The son of Fake Left, who captured the Miracle Mile in 2005 and 2006 before EI wiped out last year’s running, will go into the race on the back of a slashing third to Blacks A Fake in the Trans-Tasman on October 25.
