Mi Mademoiselle won a race at Devonport in June last year but her form prior to and since then has been nothing short of moderate.

But a change of tactics and an alteration to her training regime has hopefully turned her form around.

"In her first preparation I would have to say she was disappointing but it has taken us a while to work her out," Rattray said.

"At first we tried leading withy her but now we opt to drive her a bit more conservatively. 've got no immediate plans for her just look for some suitable races," he said.

But it might just be that the mare is finally starting to live up to her impeccable breeding.

She is by three times Inter Dominion champion Our Sir Vancelot out of former champion race mare Milady.

While Rattray was delighted to see Mi Mademoiselle win another race, the connections of Karalta Crown can be forgiven for feeling hard done by as their filly was the best of good things beaten.

Karalta Crown was almost knocked down in the early part of the race and forced to race three-back the fence and she was unable to get out in time to haul in the eventual winner.
