In last week's $35,000 Progress Pace elims, Brittany Farms and Brian Monieson Trust's Vintage Master and Daniel Dube blew past Elmer Fannin and George Teague's front pacing Mr. Wiggles for a 1:50.2 victory in one section with Bulletproof Enterprises' Vertical Horizon, driven by Jim Morrill Jr., third, in front of Eyerly, Vizzi, Novinger and Wahoo Stable's Arctic Warrior.The other Progress Pace elim was won by Bulletproof Ent.'s late charging Schoolkids with Ted Tetrick in 1:50.3. Richard Lombard and Pat Rizzo's Go Go Solano led for most of the race with George Brennan at the controls. Gary and Barbara Iles homebred Zee Barber with Brian Sears. Carter and LeBlanc racing's Rusty's All In driven by Ron Pierce was the other qualifier.
The richest of the three Matron sophomore finals is the $253,537 Colt and Gelding Trot. Lightly raced Swan For All (Ron Pierce) for owners John Carver, Mystical Marker and Diamond Creek farm's has an impressive record of five wins and a second in five races this year and seven for 10 and two seconds in his two seasons of racing. In the other elim, Aci Stuteri AB's Howthealoareyou (George Brennan) scored a 1:54.3 win. Tom Dillon's Hot Shot Blue Chip (Ron Pierce) led until the last step while JML Stables' Jaavos Boy Jim Morrill) was the other second-place finisher. The other starters are Diane Giuliano's Calchips Brute (Trond Smedshammer), Gordon, Held, Rekoon and Goldberg's Tagyoureit Hanover (Andy Miller), Dan and Tom Courtemanche's NF Quotable (Tim Tetrick) and PJ Clark (John Campbell) owned by Brittany Farms Little E and Dynasty Stable.
Last week Bulletproof Enterprises' Showherthemoney (George Brennan) equaled the track record for a three-year-old filly pacer set by famed Rainbow Blue thwarteing his rivals in 1:51. Showherthemoney has an unblemished record this Fall. Her foes include Ginger And Fred (Dave Palone) racing for Howard Taylor, Ed Gold, Bob Feldman and Jerry Silva, the 4 For 3 Stable's Special Sweetheart (Jody Jamieson), West Of L A. owned by Al McIntosh Holdings, CSX and Robert McIntosh stables, Indulge Me (John Campbell) for Bob and Lauren Tuckd and the entry of Melissa's Fancy and Smith Farms Pacer Riley Character.
The $214,163 filly trot division is led by elim winners Richard Bethiaume's Yursa Hanover (Tim Tetrick) and Jersey AS (George Brennan), one of two Matron elims winners last week owned by Aci Stuteri AB. Locally owned Rapsong (Brian Sears) races for George & Tina Dennis and Ask W Stables while Brittany Farms' Musical Mystery (Daniel Dube) also finished second last week. Lothlorien's Windsong Soprano (Mike Lachance), last year's Matron winner P&J Stables' Honorable Daughter (John Campbell), Ira Kristel's Sirenuse (Richard Silverman) and Dreamland Farms' Lady In The Wind (David Miller) from the rail, complete the field.
Sunday post time is 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday racing begins at 4:30 p.m. There is no live racing on Fridays. Saturday and Sunday cards begins at 5:30 p.m. Admission and parking is free at Dover Downs. Reservations are suggested.
