The person responsible for throwing the pen has come forward, made themselves known to Addington Raceway and Harness Racing New Zealand officials and profusely apologised for their actions from last Tuesday claiming that the incident was an accident and a practical joke which had gone horribly wrong.

This person has now been interviewed and his statement obtained. Further enquiries by Racecourse Inspector Mr Barry Kitto are continuing. It is expected that the investigation will be concluded within 14 days. Once the investigation has been completed, a decision will then be made by Harness Racing New Zealand and Addington Raceway as to any further action that may be taken.
