A Northern Luck 'double' for Royalstar

Justalittleluck and True North, a pair of Northern Luck harness racing geldings, emerged successful in different countries last weekend. Justalittleluck, a three-year-old, captured a $25,000 elimination of the Autumn Series at Woodbine, Canada on Saturday (November 21).

Leading throughout from the pole, the gelding won by three lengths in 1:53 flat. It was his seventh win from 19 tries this year and boosted his bankroll to over $Can40,000.

Justalittleluck will be one of the leading fancies for the $52,000 Autumn Series Final to be held at Woodbine next Saturday night.

Forty eight hours earlier the four-year-old True North survived a torrid passage to post his second win at New Zealand's Manawatu Raceway.

Despite facing the breeze from the outset, True North surged to the front in the home straight and fought bravely to win in a three-way photo.

The leading first-season sire in Western Australia in 2008/09, Northern Luck stands at Royalstar Farm, Bullsbrook, north of Perth.
