The US import Bacardi Lindy tr, 1:52.8 is a son of the mighty S J's Photo from 1998 USTA ‘2yo Trotting Filly of the Year', Rum Boogie.
Such is his popularity, that last season Bacardi Lindy served more mares than any other trotting sire in Australia!
Bathurst Harness Racing Club CEO, Danny Dwyer, said this week that his Club is appreciative of Mr. Simpson's generosity. "Ross has displayed his commitment to the future of ‘square trotting' in country areas of NSW, particularly at Bathurst, by providing a service to his exciting young trotting sire. Any one of the starters in our trot event on December 6th will have the opportunity to win the service. We shall do a draw from the hat to ascertain the winner. That will provide trainers with plenty of incentive to nominate their trotters for our inaugural ‘trot race' of the season," Mr. Dwyer concluded.
In other exciting news for ‘square trotting' enthusiasts, they will be pleased to learn that the first ‘import' for the new ‘NSW country trotting pool' will arrive this week from Victoria, with the promise of more to come over the months ahead.
Square trotting enthusiast, Ken Davis, said this week that he is delighted with the progress being made to introduce trotting events into the western districts area of the state on a regular basis. "Owners and trainers from throughout the region are now starting to give the acquisition of a trotter some serious consideration. They appreciate that our determination to make this project work is bearing fruit, and they want to be part of it. I am only too happy to assist them in any way possible and can be contacted at any time (02) 6367 5338," Mr. Davis added.
