The mighty son of Artsplace has five youngsters nominated - the second highest number in the sale - including three colts and two fillies.

The Art Major draft includes a half-brother to Beena Buster 1:56.8 ($152,518) and Fake Idee 1:58.3, a half-brother to the multi-classics winner Karalta Crown ($128,351) and a filly from the family of top racemare Ashlees Babe.

Grinfromeartoear, Modern Art and Blissfull Hall, who finished second, third and fourth respectively on the 2YO Sires' Premiership, all have yearlings in the sale.

Grinfromeartoear has a colt from a daughter of NSW Ladyship Mile winner Whitby Heritage 1:58.8 ($201,758) and a filly from the well known ‘Bonus' family of leading Victorian mentor Ron Pocock.

The sire of Breeders Crown champion Led Suitcase, Blissfull Hall has three entries, all from race-winning mares and from top maternal families.

The lone Modern Art entry is a colt from the tribe of top pacers such as Roydon Glen, Roydon Scott, Jagged Knight and co.

Numerically, the American import JR Mint 1:49.6 ($778,289) has the biggest draft with seven nominations. They include a half-brother to Tasmanian 3YO Sires Stakes champion Johnny Applesead 1:59.5, a colt from a half-sister to El Jays Maverick 1:59.5 and a filly from the 1:59.2 winner Lady Lucy.

Real Desire, the US Horse of the Year in 2002, will be represented for the first time at an Australian yearling sale by a colt out of My Charlotte (8 wins), a daughter of the Blue Bonnet winner Risen Star.

Another first-crop sire is the Messenger Stake winner Metropolitan 1:50.2 ($1.1m), whose four-strong contingent includes close relatives of Beena Buster, Karalta Crown, Totally Perfect and Orta Be Ruthless 1:59.2 ($87,540).

Western Terror and Artiscape, both riding high on the USA Sires' Premiership, and world champion sire Life Sign are all dually represented.

Bettor's Delight, the sire of Victoria Cup winner Bettors Strike, has only one entry but it is sure to command plenty of attention. Lot 21 is a filly from a five-win half-sister to the Dandy Patch Stakes and Hobart Cup winner Foxfighter 1:57.7 ($155,644) and the highly promising Karalta Macloud 1:59.4.

As an incentive for mainland buyers, a $300 travel allowance will be paid to any purchaser from outside Tasmania who buys a horse at the Tasmanian Premier Yearling Sale.
