All three horses were separated by only a nose at the wire in 1:55.4 with Joey The Jet JT getting the win by the slightest of margins. Owned by Ken Wood and Bill Dittmar, the Wesgate Crown-NV Becky gelding posted his second victory of the year and upped his seasonal earnings to$24,540. Early Shirley was a nostril in front of third place Jeter Marvel.
In one of two $10,500 Male paces, Real Magician rang up driver Tony Morgan's fourth victory and trainer Wayne Givens second scoring a 1:52 triumph for owners Givens and Niel Gargiulo. Ron Short's Charger (George Dennis) was runner-up with JJ Gladiator (Corey Callahan) third.
In another division Wainui Tabman N dropped down a notch in class and that was good enough as Tony Morgan guiding the Presidential Ball-Gwyneth gelding to a 1:54 victory for Jim Novinger, Wayne Hurtubise and Neil Chesen. Hare Force One (Ross Wolfenden) was a hard fought second. Art Glass (Corey Callahan) was the show finisher.
Big Native closed out the program with a 1:54.3 conquest. Jon Roberts drove the Allamerican Native-Hawaiian Viola gelding to his third win in his last four starts. Majors Best (Allan Davis) was second. Artist Point (Ross Wolfenden) was third.
Two horses made the winner's circle in the $20,000 Claiming Allowance. Eviction Notice driven by Corey Callahan for Rodney Long, Fred Sporrer and trainer Greg Trotto, just got up on the outside to deadheat Vicki Givens and Louie Pagliaroni's Dina's Gamble teamed with Jim Morand. The two pacers could not be separated in a 1:53.4 photo. Calibrator (Brad Hanners) was a half-length back in third.
The longshot of the day came when Antonios Nomikos' Action Below, handled by Eddie Davis Jr. came home first in 1:54.1 to win a Delaware $10,000 Male Claiming pace at 62-1 odds.
Multiple wins were turned in by Tony Morgan three and two by Ross Wolfenden.
