During 2007, Teague trains Southwind Lynx, winner of both the $1-million North American Cup and $1-million Meadowlands Pace and Danae, the $750,000 Hambletonian Oak winning filly trotter among a group of stakes winning juveniles.

In 2006, Teague conditioned two of the top pacers in North America - major stakes winners Total Truth and Western Ace.

At two, Teague conditioned, Isabella Blue Chip set a world record for freshman filly pacers.

Among a number of other standout juveniles, Teague trains young horses for former boxing champion George Foreman and NFL stars Wayne Chrebet and DeMorrio Williams.

Through recent seasons, Teague developed a number of standout pacers starting with Starter Hanover and Mattuity.

Most Teague horses were inexpensive yearling purchases that became long wearing, hard-hitting top class winners.

An unassuming but articulate and talented conditioner, Teague, won the U.S. Harness Writers Association's "Good Guy" award in 2004 and not long ago was voted Trainer of the Year.

A couple of seasons back before his name became universally known, Teague's filly Lucky M, was thought to be a major player in three-year-old filly stakes. Before an unprecedented collision in a post parade resulted in a broken neck Lucky M's future career was snuffed out.

In 2007. George, along with his sister Brenda, a key member of the Teague Stable, persevered, and with Rainbow Blue they found that elusive 'pot o' gold.'

George Teague racks up his sixth $1-million winning horse

During the last portion of the first decade of the 21st century, horses trained by George Teague have been among the biggest winners in the sport. In fact, when Mr. Wiggles finished second in the $600,000 Breeders Crown in October, it marked the sixth Teague trainee to reach seven figures in earnings.

First came the immortal filly pacer Rainbow Blue, the 2005 Horse of the Year.

Quickly following were more major stakes winners Total Truth, Western Ace, Southwind Lynx, Badlands Nitro before Mr. Wiggles.

Today Teague, with five three-year-olds ranked among the top 25 in the Stanley Bergstein Experimental ratings.

Currently, Teague is supervising a giant stable of around 120 horses based currently at Harrington Raceway.

In addition to around 70 two-year-olds, he is also bringing back to the races an outstanding group of now three-year-olds with major stakes potential.

18-year-old Montrell Teague making a mark in first season

Montrell Teague has some big footsteps to follow, but considering he is in his first season of driving horses against "name" opposition, the son of leading trainer George Teague is already making a big impression.

While in high school, Montrell was owner of Artcotic, a 2007 Breeders Crown winner. This Fall at the Harrington Raceway meet, Montrell, a personable and well liked teenager, drove three winners on a single program.

He is doing double duty as well. During the day, the recent Lake Forest high school graduate is continuing his education via the internet and also helps to care for horses in his dad's barn.
