Aureilien Desmarres was in the irons for trainer/owner Sylvain Desmarres as the winner recorded his 20th career victory now for 429,940€.
He defeated the 25 meter handicapped Vetige de Chenu (10g Lynx de Bellouet-Neige de Chenu) with Eric Raffin aboard, with third to Boston Terrie (8g Kesaco Phedo-Nouvelle Idole) with Alexandre Angot up. The well-regarded and 25 meter handicapped Evangelina Blue (5f Speedy Blue-Happy Blue) was fourth with Mathieu Mottier up for trainer J.P. Mary.
The upcoming Sunday is a good card led by the Grand Prix de Bretagne, a Gr. II event for 110,000€ and raced over the 2700 meter course. The field includes three J-M Bazire trainees such as Belina Josselyn, Davidson du Pont and Looking Superb, all looking for a ticket to the Prix d’Amerique. Nicolas Bazire will team Belina in this her third effort following a layoff. She will race with shoes.
