Gran Premi Nacional de Trot

El hipodromo de Son Pardo Majorque today hosted the 80th edition of the Gran Premi National. 16 three year-old Spain registered colts and fillies were at the autostart for this 2150 meter Gr. II event carrying a purse of 96,000 euro.

Off as even-money favorite, Amor de Font (3m SJs Photo-Deninet Star-Nittany Star) was victorious for driver Guillarmo Andrew Andreu timed in 2:44.24 (1.16.39kr). The winner is owned by Cuadra El Duende y Jaume and trained by Antonio Gelabert Olivier. The victory was his fifth in the last seven starts.

Second on the line was Aquiles Duran (3m Lamitech Hanover-Veronica-Everglade Hanover) with Apolo de Font (3m Magic d'Arc-Isa Haleryd-Florida Pro) and Arco de Ladil (3m Fast Photo-Dreamlandsnegligee-Speedy Crown) finishing third and fourth.

Elitloppet 2013 elimination draws took place today with post positions shown below. USA and Canada entrants drew well in what appear to be balanced fields.

Victory Hill (12m Super GTilly-Hills Speedy Ruth-Speedy Scot) at Arjana for Carl-Erik Lindblom, timed in 1.13.2kr. In the beaten field were Fraternity Party and Please Poppy from the US and Lord Capar from Italy.

Sevruga (5g SJs Caviar-Stunning Lindsey-Malabar Man) won the $180,000 Cutler Memorial at new Meadowlands in 1:51, prevailing in a four-horse photo in which each was timed in 1:51. Wishing Stone, Guccio and Modern Family were next in line.

ABC Mercedes (8g ABC Garland-Mercedes Kosmos-Royal Troubador) won the Hoosier Park $24,000 Invitational in 1:53.3 for driver/trainer Trace Tetrick.

Tirade Hanover (3g Crazed-Teagarden Hanover-Royal Strength) won a Harrington qualifier in 1:56.1h as he readies for New York Sires activities.

Market Share (4m Revenue-Classical Flirt-Yankee Glide) took a new Meadowlands qualifier in 1:54.4 over Swan In A Million trained by Bob Stewart.

Creatine (3m Andover Hall-Berry Nice Muscles-Muscles Yankee) took another new Meadowlands qualifier in 1:54.3 for trainer Stewart, nosing out Aperfectyankee and Jim Oscarsson
