Frightening P, the co-fastest race mare of all-time, gave birth to a filly just before 11 on this morning, May 4, 2005.

The filly is "all legs - maybe the biggest foal I've ever seen," said trainer and co-owner Kelvin Harrison. "She looks identical to her mother. She's already up and walking around."

The foal, who is by Real Artist, was born at Blairwood Farms in Columbus, New Jersey. Frightening P, who set her world record of 1:48.4 on June 21, 2002 at the Meadowlands [since equaled by Carolina Sunshine and Loyal Opposition], will be bred to Artsplace this season.

Frightening P, who is by Camtastic, retired in 2003 with a record of 21 wins, 18 seconds and 10 thirds from 93 starts and earnings of $404,735.
