Fly Jesse Fly equaled Northfield Park's harness racing track record for five-and-up trotting geldings when he won the $19,000 Open Trot in 1:53.2 on Sunday (September 2).

The mark was previous held by both Obrigado (Mark MacDonald) in 2016 and Cimeronken (Aaron Merriman) in 2018.

Jim Otto of Jefferson, Ohio trains and co-owns the trotter with Robert Sidley of Painesville, Ohio. Chris Lems was in the sulky for the winning drive.

Fly Jesse Fly (Jailhouse Jesse-Flying Rae-Pegasus Spur) started from post two. He left from the gate and led every call through fractions of :26.4, :55.3, 1:24 and 1:53.2, besting his competition by 2 ¼-lengths.

Fly Jesse Fly now has six wins in 21 starts this year. Sunday's victory represents his 21st career score and bolstered his bankroll to $410,445. He returned $10.00 to win.
