Valuable Art pulled 1st over but could not reach the leader. Artful Dancer was second over, but could not gain any ground. At the top of the stretch Art Stafford Jr. pulled the pocket and won by one and three quarter length for his brother trainer Andrew Stafford.
The winning time was 1:52.1. The last half mile was paced in 55.2 and a last quarter in 28.1
