Summerside, PE - Pictonian Storm, with catch-driver Gary Chappell in the bike, pulled off an upset in the opening day feature harness racing event at Red Shores Summerside in 1:57.1.

The six-year-old son of Western Paradise, trained by Wade Sorrie for owner Walter Simmons, Summerside, PE, held off Machinthesand (Ken Murphy) while race favorite Mando Fun (Dale Spence) completed the triactor.

In other action, Im on Schedule opened up the season at Summerside with a 2:01 score for Murphy, trainer Devon Wallace and owner David Lewis, Alberton, PE.

Drivers Marc Campbell and Dale Spence recorded driving doubles while trainer MacKenzie MacInnis had two winners on the program as 131 years of racing returned the Prince County oval.

Racing returns to Summerside on Sunday featuring the Ruby Chappell and Bob Dewar Stakes. Post time at 1pm
