New Zealand trotter Stent won tonight’s Bertocchi Melton Trotters Cup for harness racing trainer Colin De Filippi.

The son of Dream Vacation headed off early leader Maori Time with a lap and a half to go and held off the squaregaiter alongthe home stretch to score by six-and-a-half metres in a rate of 1:59.2 for the 2240-metre trip

Kyvalley Blur worked home well for third, with My High Expectations battling on gamely for fourth after facing the breeze.
