Northern Express rolled to victory in the Select Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night.

Harness racing driver Russell Foster left aggressively with Northern Express.  Foster forced tucks by Gillie the Kid and Morairtime into the first turn.

This allowed Northern Express to set  fractions of 28 to the quarter and a half in 57.4.

Jack Parker Jr wheeled Morairtime past the half and trotted coverless in pursuit of the pacesetter Northern Express down the backstretch.  Gillie the Kid followed second over and mounted a three wide brush nearing the three quarter pole.

Northern Express maintained the lead at the three quarters in 1:25.3.and trotted that quarter in 27.4.

Northern Express won convincingly by one and a quarter lengths in 1:54.2 and paid $4 to win. 

 

Northern Express (Muscle Massive) is owned and trained by Arty Foster Jr.

Morairtime raced first over and picked up the place spot.  Carol Jamieson-Parker trained and her husband Jack Parker Jr. drove. Bluebird Jesse finished third for trainer Jim King Jr. and driver Tim Tetrick.

Tim Tetrick won 4 races on the betting card.

On Thursday night,  Dover Downs will offer a $5,000 guaranteed Pick 5 wager with a fifty cent minimun bet.  The  takeout is 15 percent.

Racing resumes on Wednesday  at Dover Downs with a 4:30 post time.
