CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - It is Silverhill Shadow's race to lose in the Thursday night harness racing feature at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

First race post time is 7 pm for the 12-dash card that features Silverhill Shadow in a major class drop for trainer-driver Terry Gallant. The four-year-old Silverhill Shadow gets an added bonus of rail control in the race 11 $2,000 feature fresh off a fifth place finish in the $7,500 Johnny Conroy Memorial Invitational while pacing in 1:55.4 at Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia on Sunday. The winner of over $213,000 lifetime is owned by Silverhill of Tignish and will face seven rivals including main competitors Van Zant (Ron Matheson) from post 4 and Nogreatmischief (Walter Cheverie) with post 7.

Race analyst Les MacIsaac stands in line with those who believe a Silverhill Shadow victory is beyond likely.

"He went up against the bearcats at Truro in his latest and while he wasn't able to crack the top three, he certainly didn't look out of place," MacIsaac said. "Easier opposition tonight and rail control makes him clearly the one to beat."

Other entries include The Big Bite (Mike Stevenson), Balanchine (Gilles Barrieau), Beckenbauer (Jason Hughes), Superbo Hanover (Gordie Hennessey) and Cheyenne Ford (Kenny Arsenault).

The evening trot class lines up in race 4 for a $1,550 purse with I Aint No Lady the morning line choice from post 6 for driver Gary Chappell, trainer Garth Cole and owner Sandra Cole of Kensington. The five-year-old son of Black River was a winner in 2:02.2 in his latest outing and has a field of seven other trotters out to beat him. Dunmore Alpha has post 3 with veteran driver Leonard McGuigan in the bike while Howmacs Pride is a major danger with post 8 for trainer-driver Arsenault.

Forced To Travel is the programmed favourite in the race 5 Holiday Inn Express And Suites Charlottetown pace while race 8 is sponsored by the Bell Aliant Pioneers with Fly With Max favoured from post 3.
