Tact Bess, a New Zealand-bred daughter of Auckland Reactor, posted a new lifetime mark of 1:54.5 when she outsprinted a smart field at Albion Park on Saturday night (August 22).

Starting from the No. 2 gate, the five-year-old enjoyed a saloon passage behind the leader before being switched down onto the passing lane. She won by 1.7 metres.

Driven by Isobel Ross for trainer Grant Dixon, Tact Bess clocked 55.9 for the last 800 metres.
