WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 24, 2020 -- Hammered down to 1-5, Summer Charm justified the support with a front-end victory -- her third straight -- in Tuesday's $17,900 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows. It was one of six wins for harness racing driver Tony Hall -- including three for trainer Scott Betts -- on the 13-race card.

Summer Charm scored in 1:52, holding off a serious late challenge from Diamondtequilashot that fell 1/2 length short. Newsday was a ground-saving third.

Betts trains Summer Charm, a 4-year-old daughter of Bettor's Delight-Lover Of Art who now boasts career earnings of $369,100, for Tim Betts, Nick Catalano, Keith Pippi and Brookside Stables.

Tuesday's much-anticipated Super Hi-5, with its six-figure carryover and mandatory payout, generated a pool exceeding $470,000. When Entranced won at 18-1 and 70-1 bomb Wingnut Dinger finished fourth, a rich payoff was assured. Indeed, multiple winners each collected $30,692.02.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednesday, first post 12:45 PM.
