Mufasa's being crowned New Zealand Horse of the Year capped off a very satisfying year for FLAIR equine nasal strips & it's Asia/Pacific master distributor, Karaka based, Brian McMath.

"Mufasa's award was a stunning endorsement of the benefits of using FLAIR equine nasal strips at the top echelon of NZ racing as both the Harness Horse of the Year I Can Doosit and Mufasa raced wearing the strips," said McMath.

Over 450 winners wore FLAIR strips during the season just finished which included 45 Group & Listed races. Apart from Mufasa & I Can Doosit with 4 Group 1 wins each other highlights were Choice Achiever's win in the AG Hunter Cup, 4 Group 1 Winners on Harness Jewels Day, Mustang Mach's win in the Messenger,

Ideal Scott Great Northern Derby, Texican Sire Stakes Final on NZ Cup Day (the 7th time in the past 10 years that the winner has worn FLAIR), Ato winning the Group 1 Kris Flyer in Singapore & Gai Waterhouse training her first FLAIR winners in Sydney.

McMath added:

"Trainers who won races with horses wearing FLAIR included Mark Purdon, Cran Dalgety, Tim Butt, Robert Dunn, Tony Herlihy, Gai Waterhouse, Stephen McKee, John Sargent, Roger James, the Rogersons, Mark Walker (Singapore) and Singapore's leading trainer & long time client Patrick Shaw. The list reads like a Who's Who of the best trainers in the Asia/ Pacific region so we are delighted with this support."

"There is a myth that FLAIR is only helpful for some horses" said Brian "but the strips benefit all horses by conserving energy so more oxygen is available at the end of a race and their protection against bleeding and follow on benefits such as faster recovery are well proven, so a strip should be an essential part of a top horse's racing gear. Prevent, Protect & Perform capture the key reasons why trainers should use FLAIR on their top equine athletes," McMath said. or
