Nothinbutanallstar winning Wednesday’s feature at The Meadows

WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 9, 2016 -- Shuffled to fourth after taking the early lead, Nothinbutanallstar exploited an opportunity in the Lightning Lane and captured Wednesday's $20,000 harness racing "Preferred Trot" at The Meadows at a lush 21-1.

With horses outside and in front of them, it appeared that Nothinbutanallstar and Brady Brown would have to settle for a minor award. But when Crosbys Clam Bake moved off the cones to challenge the leader, Tall Cotton, it left the Lightning Lane open. The 5-year-old Allstar Hall-Gia Hall gelding barreled through to score in 1:55.3 over a "good" surface while Tall Cotton and Valley of Sin dead-heated for place, a head back.

Dirk Simpson trains Nothinbutanallstar, who extended his career bankroll to $293,564, for Lester Raber.

Jim Pantaleano piloted four winners on the 13-race card.
