Regal Roxy (Shawn McDonough) would take the Fillies and Mare feature of the two harness racing co-features,Thursday night (July 27) at Vernon Downs. Regal Roxy (Stonebridge Regal) would have the lead at the first quarter but would yield to Major Millie (John MacDonald) before the first half. Major Millie (Art Major ) would then control the race all the way to the top of the stretch. Regal Roxy ($17.80) who is owned by Kathleen Lauer and trained by Misty Carey, would come out of the pocket in the stretch and wear down Major Millie (second) to win by a head in 1:54.1. Finishing third was E R Rhonda. Regal Roxy would pick up her fourth win on the season and her 20th career victory. The 13 year-old veteran Gelato Man (Chris Lems), would win the featured trot. Choke Hold (John MacDonald) would control the first half of the race with fractions of :27.1 and :57.2. Gelato Man (Incredible Abe) would work hard but eventually get the lead before the three-quarter mark. Owned and trained by Angus Macdonald, the gelding would hold off a late drive by Yankee Manny (Fern Paquet Jr.) to win the mile in 1:56.1. Yankee Manny (Yankee Glide) would settle for second best. Engagedatlexington (Jimmy Whittemore) finished third. Choke Hold ($7.30) would win his fifth time this season and would notch his 56th lifetime win. Golden Gun (Justin Huckabone) shocked a field of six in Vernon Downs harness racing feature ($8,400) on Saturday night (June 3). Sassy Hanover (Claude Huckabone Jr) set the pace with fractions of :27, :56.4, 1:24.4. Golden Gun who is a 7 year-old Headmaster gelding followed in the pocket before taking over in the stretch winning in 1:52.1. Owned by The Wiz Kids Stable and trained by Misty Carey, Golden Gun paid $32.60 for the win. The big favorite Dude's The Man (Chris Lems) charged late to finish second. Sassy Hanover hung on for third. John MacDonald would add another four win night to his resume. MacDonald would take race three with Fox Valley Cadet ($2.60) in 1:54.1. In race number six he would guide All Stienam ($4.00) to a stretch drive win in 1:53.3. Race number nine he would drive Forty Carrots ($5.40) to victory in deep stretch just nipping Cam's Lucky Man (Andy Gardner) in 1:53.3. HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Kesons Silhouette stepped up in class to Buffalo Raceway's featured filly and mare pace for $7,400 on Wednesday night (Feb. 3) and rewarded her faithful harness racing backers with a nice $36.00 win mutual.   After watching Ding (Ron Beback Jr.) do the dirty work in putting up some hot fractions of 28.2, 57.4 and 1:28.0, Kesons Silhouette (Truman Gale) was the benefactor. The tiring Ding offered no resistance in the lane as Kesons Silhouette zoomed right on by and registered length win in 1:58.2 over the good track. Ding held on for second while Charmschooldropout (Shawn McDonough) rallied for third.   It was the second straight victory for Kesons Silhouette (Shadow Play-Play Southwind), a 5-year-old mare owned by Michael Kessler and The Speed To Burn Racing Stables.
