Vegas Vacation set a new record of 1:48.3 in his division of the Simcoe stakes tonight Saturday the 7th of September at Mohawk Raceway. Harness racing driver Brian Sears swept the two divisions driving Fool Me Once to win the other division. The Champlain Stakes also featured on the night with Winds Of Change, Precious Beauty and Luck Be Withyou winning                   Race 1: 1st Shes Da Bomb (b,f,2 - Art Major-Armbro Bombay-Western Hanover 2nd Porsche Seelster (b,f,2 - Artistic Fella-Platinum Seelster-Western Hanover) 3rd Impatience (br,f,2 - Somebeachsomewhere-Restive Hanover-The Panderosa) Race 2: 1st Your So Vain (b,c,3 - Donato Hanover-Tennis Lover-Muscles Yankee) 2nd Royalty For Life (b,c,3 - Rc Royalty-Bourbon N Grits-Donerail) 3rd Smilin Eli (b,c,3 - Muscles Yankee-Gerris Joy-Enjoy Lavec) Race 3: 1st Master Of Law (br,g,3 - Deweycheatumnhowe-Possess The Magic-Self Possessed) 2nd Punxsutawney (b,c,3 - Glidemaster-Sunseeker Kosmos-S Js Photo) 3rd Wheeling N Dealin (b,c,3 - Cantab Hall-Quick Credit-Credit Winner) Race 4: 1st Ideal Race (b,g,7 - Western Terror-Eidette Hanover-Big Towner) 2nd Thepaninsulahotel (b,h,7 - No Pan Intended-Onenightinpangkok-Matts Scooter) 3rd Twin B Impressive (b,g,4 - Bettors Delight-Impeccant-Jate Lobell) Race 5: 1st Fool Me Once (b,c,3 - Art Major-Fool That I Am-Jennas Beach Boy) 2nd Captive Audience (b,c,3 - Art Major-Captiva Island-Western Hanover) 3rd Lucan Hanover (b,g,3 - Western Ideal-Lauren Order-Dragon Again) Race 6: 1st Winds Of Change (b,c,2 - American Ideal-Arts Temptress-Artsplace) 2nd Jet Airway (br,c,2 - Jeremes Jet-Aromatic-Artiscape) 3rd Crafty Master (b,c,2 - Mister Big-Cam Odie-Camluck) Race 7: 1st Bestofbest Hanover (b,h,5 - Western Hanover-Bunny Lake-Precious Bunny) 2nd Sparky Mark (b,h,6 - Astreos-Luckbealadytonite-Camluck) 3rd Shelbys Cobra (b,g,6 - Western Ideal-Sounds Perfect-Artsplace) Race 8: 1st Precocious Beauty (b,f,2 - Art Major-Precious Beauty-Jate Lobell) 2nd Beach Gal (br,f,2 - Somebeachsomewhere-Michelle My Gal-Dragon Again) 3rd Bahama Blue (b,f,2 - Somebeachsomewhere-Isabella Blue Chip-Bettors Delight) Race 9: 1st Luck Be Withyou (b,c,2 - Western Ideal-Trim Hanover-Camluck) 2nd Fort Knox (b,c,2 - American Ideal-The Art Museum-Artsplace) 3rd Some Major Beach (b,c,2 - Major In Art-Wheres The Beach-Beach Towel) Race 10: 1st Aslan (b,g,4 - Mach Three-Skyview-Falcon Seelster) 2nd Ellis Park (br,g,4 - Rocknroll Hanover-Roller Cam-Cambest) 3rd Smokin Bear (gr,g,4 - Grinfromeartoear-Smokin Pistol-Jate Lobell) Race 11: 1st Vegas Vacation (br,g,3 - Bettors Delight-Dont You Smile-Grinfromeartoear) 2nd Sunshine Beach (b,c,3 - Somebeachsomewhere-Light Up-Artsplace) 3rd Sunfire Blue Chip (b,c,3 - American Ideal-Shot Togo Bluechip-Cams Card Shark) Race 12: 1st Grande Seelster (br,g,5 - Camluck-Glendale Kim-Troublemaker) 2nd Bestinthebusiness (b,g,5 - Another Mile-Tendin To Business-Lon Todd Hanover) 3rd Top Gear (b,g,6 - Real Desire-Trust Me Ashley-Ball And Chain) Race 13: 1st Bay Of Sharks (b,h,7 - Cams Card Shark-Whitley Bay-Tylers Mark) 2nd Red Bugler (b,g,6 - Cammibest-My Friend Flicka-Firm Friend) 3rd Clic K (ch,g,5 - Shanghai Phil-Eclatante-Bullvons Dream) All videos are attached.

Surprise…I had ANOTHER winning weekend! Right now I stand at picking horses in 94 races with 40 winners, not good enough but we are gaining ground. I went five for seven last week and won $7.50 (based on $2 win bet each race). We are still in the minus earning column at  -$18.20 going into this weekend. There is big action all around North America this weekend. Friday the spotlight is on Vernon Downs with their two Older Trot Open and Mares Open, then Saturday at Mohawk Raceway is the elimination’s for the Canadian Trotting Classic plus the Simcoe Stakes and also at Scioto Downs Saturday with more than $1 million in OSS finals and a great Invitational Pace. I’ve gone with choice races at all three tracks. $214,000 Credit Winner Open Trot 11th race Vernon Downs Friday has some of the best trotters in the world doing battle once again. Arch Madness, Sevruga, Mister Herbie taking on the entry of My MVP, Market Share and Wishing Stone. This race can, of course, go to just about anyone in the field but it is nearly impossible from a wagering standpoint to not go with the three-horse entry. Wishing Stone comes off a big romp at Yonkers, My MVP just beat Sevruga and Market Share and Market Share, despite three straight losses, is still the one to beat in here. $202,000 Muscle Hill Mares Trot 10th race Vernon Downs Friday – While Check Me Out is coming off her first win of the year she draws the far outside post 10. Beatgoeson Hanover may be coming off a world record 1:51.4 mile at Pocono Downs but never puts in two winning efforts back-to-back. The entry of Maven and D’Orsay looms over this field. With a nice weeks rest from the races, Maven should be at her best and handle this field. $125,000 Jim Ewart Memorial Open Pace 12th race Scioto Downs Saturday – Strong field assembled here Pet Rock, Sweet Lou, Fred And Ginger but wait…it’s the USTA’s August Horse of the Month, A Rocknroll Hanover in post five. Whoa…..A Rocknroll Hanover has been awesome, never before has a harness horse won three straight races in less than 1:48 except for this guy. Too tough to not pick in here. $121,737 Simcoe Stakes 3YO Colt Pace 5th race Mohawk Raceway Saturday – Well matched field of colts in here. Fool Me Once has won 8 of 11 starts this year and draws the rail. Lucan Hanover, Mach It So and Emeritus Maximus are all major contenders in here. But I am going with Apprentice Hanover from post two. Lightly raced just five times this year, he showed he is ready to go with this group after 1:50 score last week vs older horses and he used a :25.4 final quarter mile to win it. $119,738 Simcoe Stakes 3YO Colt Pace 11th race Mohawk Raceway Saturday – It’s just about the best of this class except for Captaintreacherous. Sunfire Blue Chip, Sunshine Beach and Vegas Vacation are all super game competitors. I’ll roll the dice for this one and go with Vegas Vacation. Despite fourth place finish in Cane Pace last week, he is usually always game as his prior starts show. It’s a slim call because Sunfire Blue Chip is also very sharp while Sunshine Beach was super dismal against older horses last week. $40,000 Canadian Trotting Classic elimination 2th race Mohawk Raceway Saturday – With a week’s rest from racing I can see Royalty For Life feeling his oats and ready to race. Faces stellar group here with Your So Vain, Flanagan Memory, Smilin Eli, All Laid Out and Pine Credit all with the ability to beat Royalty For Life if he gives them a chance. But after big win in Zweig Memorial I think he can out trot this group again. $40,000 Canadian Trotting Classic elimination 3rd race Mohawk Raceway Saturday – I’m looking to score an upset in here. Race looks easy as pie for Corky from the rail and although he has been facing the best in racing week in week out, he still has not been able to win since the Meadowlands back in late July. The new guy on the block is Master Of Law in post five. He is on a four-race winning streak. He just won the $250,000 KYSS final at the Red Mile in a lifetime best 1:52.4 romp by eight lengths and has shown improvement in every start. He may just be so fresh he can win in here.

Two horsemen who ply their trade mainly at The Meadows are fast approaching some major milestones in their racing careers. Driver Mike Wilder is now just three wins away from scoring his 6,000th career win and trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr,. is just eight wins away from posting his 5,000th training victory. She makes it look so easy. I Luv The Nitelife used her patented quarter move to the lead and never had to look back en route to an easy one length triumph Monday at Mohawk Raceway in capturing the $216,429 Simcoe Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies. It was Aunt Caroline and driver Scott Zeron who started off the co-feature by shooting to the early lead with Belle Boyd and driver Jodie Jamieson grabbing the two-hole spot as they raced to the opening quarter mile in :26.2. Then the action started to heat up as Love Canal and driver Doug McNair quarter moved to the lead but as soon as they settled in, driver Tim Tetrick started I Luv The Nitelife first-over into a :54.1 half mile and they went right to the top. Racing into the final turn Jan It Jackson and driver Sylvian Filion came first-over but could not catch up to the leaders as they went by the three-quarters in 1:22.2. Still holding the field at bay, Tetrick and I Luv The Nitelife has no more challenges as they breezed home to win in 1:50. Aunt Caroline was second with Love Canal third. It was the tenth win in eleven starts this year for I Luv The Nitelife. The daughter of Rocknroll Hanover is trained by Chris Ryder and is owned by Richard and Joanne Young of Coconut Creek, FL. Sent off as the overwhelming 1/5 betting favorite, I Luv The Nitelife paid just $2.30 to win. She has now earned $861,000 this year. ‘She has been awesome all year,” Tim Tetrick said. “She goes out there and does her job. She wants to win and she likes to win. I think her next start will be in the Jugette in Delaware.” Earlier on the day, Tetrick was at Tioga Downs where he won the $360,211 Cane Pace with Captaintreacherous in 1:49.2. By Steve Wolf

It seems that nothing can stop Bee A Magician and her undefeated 2013 season as the three-year-old trotting filly posted her eleventh straight win with an ultra impressive victory in the $216,439 Simcoe Stakes at Mohawk Raceway Monday. The co-featured sixth race started off with Shared Past go quickly to the early lead. She was driven by Dave Palone, who came to the Mohawk just to drive this filly for trainer Ron Burke and they were not able to sit back and watch the action. With Motown Muscle (Mario Baillargeon) grabbing the two-hole trip they went past the opening quarter mile in :27. Back in the pack was Bee A Magician and driver Richard Zeron, who started in the second tier from post 11 and had to start behind the rail horse, Anaffairtoremember (Jack Moiseyev) and they did not leave at all. They raced nearly Indian-style to the half mile in :56.1 and that was when Anaffairtoremember started to come first-over and flushed To Dream On (Dave Miller), who started to advance on the race leaders. Meanwhile, Zeron was able to get to the outside with Bee A Magician to follow Anaffairtoremember third over but Anaffairtoremember could not keep up with the live cover from To Dream On as Shared Past continued to lead at the three-quarters in 1:23.4. As the field started down the stretch it was Shared Past still in command but far back in sixth place, Zeron had tipped three-wide with Bee A Magician and around mid-stretch the duo kicked in another gear and blasted their way home, collaring and passing Shared Past to win by one and three-quarter lengths in 1:52.3. Shared Past held for second with Motown Muscle third. “I was very concerned having to leave from post eleven,” Zeron said. “I’ve been concerned for the last three days about that. Fortunately I got away OK and was not pinned down.  I was really worried about that because I knew a lot of horse would be leaving early. “I looked up after the three-quarters and saw that both Dave and Mario were way ahead of me,” Zeron said. “I said to myself I hope she can kick it in like she has in the past. I’ve been bragging all year how she (Bee A Magician) can kick it in coming for home and she did.” Bee A Magician rewrote the Simcoe Stakes record with her 1:52.3 triumph for trainer Richard “Nifty” Norman. The daughter of Kadabra is owned by Melvin Hartman, Herb Liverman and David McDuffee and has now earned $967,000 with her 11 wins. Sent off as the 1-2 wagering favorite, Bee A Magician paid $3.00 to win. By Steve Wolf

Surprise…I had a winning weekend! Right now I stand at picking horses in 87 races with just 35 winners, not good enough. I went four for seven last week and won $5.70. We are still in the minus earning column at  -$25.70 going into this weekend. The big action Saturday is at Mohawk Raceway with the finals of She’s A Great Lady, Metro Pace and Canadian Pacing Derby. Then on Monday at Tioga Downs it’s the first jewel of the Pacing Triple Crown, the Cane Pace and the Shady Daisy Pace and also Monday, Mohawk Raceway has Bee A Magician and I Luv The Nitelife in the Simcoe Stakes. $683,000 Metro Pace Final 2YO Colts 7th race Mohawk Raceway Saturday – Annually, this is a classic race and usually the winner ends up being one of the top pacers this year and beyond. Sorta like Captaintreacherous who won the Metro last year. Well this year’s crop is most certainly top notch and the three elimination winners plus most of the field have the ability to win in here. I’m going with Lets Drink On It. He was all out last week but was able draw within and hold on to win by a neck in 1:51.1. He is in a great position to get live cover but at anytime can pull out and go to the front for good. $651,000 Canadian Pacing Derby Final Open 10th race Mohawk Raceway Saturday – Here we go again with the best pacers in the world going head to head. You can just about throw a dart at the race program and pick the winner. Half way through the season no one has yet to win three in a row but I think that is about to change. Bolt the Duer has been so game the last month I think that drawing post two will get him early cover from where he has but two choices…go to the front or get live second-over cover. Either way he ends up in the winner’s circle again! $451,000 She’s A Great Lady Final 2-YO Fillies 5th race Mohawk Raceway Saturday – This race really depends on who wants to win it the most. Top fillies have been banging heads all season long. Beach Gal comes in late and in just her third lifetime start scorches the track last week in 1:50.3 by four open lengths. Gallie By The Beach, Ali Blue and few others all have the ability to win. My choice is Precocious Beauty, so well bred to be a winner and she has showed it in her last two starts with big scores. Inside post will only aid her early on before she can take command of the race. $360,211 Cane Pace 3YO Colts 10th race Tioga Downs Monday– Considering the herculean effort put in by Captainteacherous in his last start, getting parked the mile and still game to the wire in losing by a nose to Sunshine Beach in 1:57.4, there was no disgrace in that loss and there is no doubt that the first jewel in the pacing triple crown will go to the “Captain.” Vegas Vacation will loom as Captaintreacherous’s main rival in this field but I am pretty sure the “Captain” will return to his winning ways once again. $216,429 Simcoe Stakes Trot 3YO Fillies  6th race Mohawk Raceway Monday – Undefeated at a perfect 10 for 10 this season, world champion, world record holder, faster than any of the boys….It’s Bee A Magician and she is getting tested once again in this race. Drew post 11 so she must start behind the rail horse that has no gate speed whatsoever. 12 starters in the race so it will be very cozy early on. But as we all well know, once Bee A Magician can get any clearance she will scoot to the front and no one has been able to catch her yet. $216,426 Simcoe Stakes Pace 3YO Fillies 9th race Mohawk Raceway Monday – Another huge field here, 12 starters. I Luv The Nitelife has never been better, taking lifetime mark last start with 1:48.4 stroll in the park in the $350,000 Valley Forge Final at Pocono Downs. She’s won nine of her 10 starts this year, is well rested and should be able to work her way to the lead by the three-quarters and say sayonara to this field.   $ 122,212 Shady Daisy Pace 3YO Fillies 5th race Tioga Downs Monday– This is one super well-matched field of filly pacers. With I Luv The Nitelife up in Canada most anyone in this could jump up and win it. What mystery I can’t solve due to early press time is which horse Dave Miller will drive. He’s going off Shebestingin after she broke stride at the start of the $350,000 Valley Forge…He’s driven her all season long so something must be up with her breaking. He’s listed on both Scandalous Hanover and UF Dragon’s Queen, two horses I could also pick to win. Then there’s Ms Caila J Fra and Nikki Beach who all could win. I’ve never done this before so here we go. I pick which ever horse Dave Miller drives! Let’s hope for the best!
